27 January 2026
The Winter Olympics are back and if you’re a fan of skiing, skating, snowboarding or simply cheering on Team GB, there’s plenty to enjoy as the world’s top athletes arrive in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo for 16 days of world‑class competition.
With new broadcast deals in place for 2026, you might be wondering where you can watch the Games for free. As always, we’re here to make things simple.
BBC One & BBC Two – Free to view Coverage
The BBC remains the UK’s free to view home of the Winter Olympics, even though it no longer has rights to show every single event live. You’ll still be able to tune in to highlights and major competitions on BBC One and BBC Two each day, from 9am to 10pm.
Meet the BBC Presenting Team
This year’s coverage is presented by familiar favourites Clare Balding, Hazel Irvine and Jeanette Kwakye, supported by a brilliant team of Winter Olympic experts. They’re joined by 2022 Winter Olympics stars Vicky Wright, Curling gold medallist, and bobsledder Montell Douglas (also known as Fire from BBC’s Gladiators) alongside two‑time gold medallist Lizzy Yarnold (Skeleton), figure skating champion Robin Cousins, and Olympic bronze medallists John Jackson (Bobsleigh) and Jenny Jones (Snowboarding).
